Timothy S. Redding

Founder and Lead Consultant

Mr. Redding is the President/Founder of Emergency Education Consultants, a firm striving to improve patient care through quality, current education, and best-practice guidelines. Tim has been in EMS since 1992 and a Paramedic and EMS Instructor since1996. He has worked in suburban, urban and ALS intercept systems and is still an active patient care provider. Tim is an Instructor Coordinator for New Hampshire and Massachusetts and a regular speaker across the US. He has also presented internationally in Guyana, Guatemala, Ireland and Australia. Tim also instructs Active Threat training for the National Center for Biomedical Research ad Training (NCBRT). He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and their three dogs and is a two-time Ironman and a Boston Marathon finisher.

Ed Hassen

EEC Consultant

Ed Started in the EMS profession in 1984. In 1986 began his career at Boston EMS as an EMT. Ed served as an EMT for nearly 10 years. In 1995 he was promoted to Paramedic, serving at that rank for 15 years. In 2011 Ed was promoted to Deputy Superintendent. He served as evening shift commander for 10 years until his retirement in October 2020. Ed was a past recipient of the department's Medal of Valor, Paramedic of the Year, and the Award for excellence in pre-hospital trauma care and two department citations. In his retirement Ed has worked at some of the largest COVID mass vaccination sites. Ed also volunteers with the Boston Sparks Association. The Boston Sparks provide comprehensive incident support at major fires and long duration public safety events supporting our Police, Fire and EMS agencies. Ed is currently a part time Officer at Massachusetts General Hospital Police and Security.

Erik Thomas

EEC Consultant

Erik has over three decades of invaluable experience in fire and emergency medical services. His journey began as an EMT in 1992 and he received his paramedic license in 2002. Erik earned a master’s degree in public administration. His leadership extends beyond the fire station; for the past 12 years, he has served as an EMS educator, teaching all levels of EMS. Erik is currently serving as the Fire Chief of Atkinson, New Hampshire. He is married with six children. Erik finds balance through his love for music. As a professional musician, Erik lends his talents to a Boston-based band as their bassist.

Ryan Hickey

EEC Consultant

Ryan was first certified as an EMT in 2005 and worked for a private ambulance service prior to being hired by Boston EMS in 2007. After attaining his Paramedic certification from Northeastern University he was promoted to his current role as a Boston EMS Paramedic in 2014, where he also serves as a BLS and ALS Field Training Officer. Ryan is an active EMS educator with instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. He is a MA EMT Instructor/Coordinator and State Examiner. Ryan is also a member of the Technical Committee for NFPA 3000: A Standard for Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response.

Rommie L. Duckworth

EEC Consultant

Rommie L. Duckworth is a career fire captain and paramedic EMS Coordinator for Ridgefield (CT) Fire Department and director of the New England Center for Rescue and Emergency Medicine. Rom holds a master’s degree in public administration, is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer program, and is the recipient of the NAEMT Presidential Award, American Red Cross Hero Award, Sepsis Alliance Sepsis Hero Award, and the EMS 10 Innovators Award. Rom is the author of "Duckworth on Education" as well as chapters in more than a dozen EMS, fire, rescue, and medical textbooks and over 100 published articles in fire and EMS magazines. A member of the NAEMT Board of Directors, Sepsis Alliance Advisory Board, as well as other professional advocacy and advisory boards, Rom continues to work for the advancement of emergency services. 

Kelly Grayson

EEC Consultant

Kelly Grayson is a former Critical Care Paramedic with Acadian Ambulance in southwest Louisiana. He is currently the Program manager for the Clarkson University Paramedic Program. As an EMS Educator for twenty-five years, Kelly is a national speaker at EMS conferences throughout the US. He is the owner and founder of MEDIC Training Solutions, an EMS training and consulting firm. He is an award-winning columnist for EMS1.com and EMS World Magazine, and an author of several books. Kelly also hosts an EMS podcast.

Cindi Bissonnette

Administrative Assistant

I’m the newest member of the EEC Team. As the Administrative Assistant, I am responsible for behind the scenes duties such as scheduling and billing. Prior to EEC, I owned a small commercial glass company with my husband. We are now (semi) retired. We reside in York Beach, ME and Punta Gorda, FL. In my spare time, I still swim, bike, run and play Pickleball.
