Be prepared because: "hope is not a plan."

Why Active Threat Response Training?

Active threat response training is designed to prepare individuals to respond quickly and effectively to various emergency situations, including, but not limited to, active shooter incidents, violence in the workplace, natural disasters, and other critical scenarios. In a corporate setting, this training is essential for several reasons:

  • Employee Safety: Prioritizing the safety and well-being of employees is fundamental for any organization. Training empowers individuals to react appropriately during high-stress situations, potentially saving lives.

  • Risk Mitigation: Equipping employees with the knowledge and skills to handle threats helps mitigate risks and minimizes the potential damage and loss in case of an emergency.

  • Confidence and Preparedness: Training instills confidence and competence in employees, enabling them to act swiftly and decisively in the face of danger. Being prepared can make a significant difference in the outcome of an emergency situation.

  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Active threat response training often includes guidance on effective communication and teamwork during crises, fostering a more coordinated and efficient response among employees.

Key Components of Active Threat Response Training

  1. Education and Awareness: Training sessions cover various threat scenarios, teaching employees to recognize warning signs, understand emergency protocols, and being aware of their surroundings.

  2. Response Strategies: Employees learn different response strategies, such as evacuation procedures, sheltering, and when to take action to protect themselves and others.

  3. Communication Protocols: Effective communication is vital during emergencies. Training provides guidance on how to report incidents, convey information to authorities, and communicate within the organization.

  4. Practical Drills and Simulations: Hands-on exercises and simulations help employees practice what they've learned in a stressful, but controlled environment, enhancing their readiness and response capabilities.

  5. Post-Incident Support: Training may include guidance on post-incident support and resources available for mental health and recovery.

Benefits for Corporations

Implementing active threat response training within a corporate environment offers various benefits:

  • Enhanced Security Culture: It fosters a culture of security and preparedness within the organization, demonstrating a commitment to employee safety.

  • Reduced Liability: Properly trained employees can potentially reduce liability and legal risks associated with inadequate emergency preparation.

  • Improved Employee Morale: Knowing the company prioritizes their safety can boost employee morale, confidence in the workplace, and trust towards management.

  • Community and Stakeholder Confidence: Stakeholders and the community often look favorably upon companies that prioritize safety and security.

Active threat response training is an essential investment for corporations, ensuring a safer and more secure work environment. By equipping employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond effectively to emergencies, companies can mitigate risks, prioritize safety, and foster a culture of preparedness.
